A long day trip. Gorgeous scenery and lots of mountain roads.
Start early it is an easy 250 miles.
Beginning at Harley Davidson of Seattle head south and take a convenient cross street east to I-5.
Take I-5 south through Seattle. Be especially careful for the next 40 miles and watch traffic closely.
In Sumner take the Hwy 161, Mt Rainier exit. Travel south along Hwy 161 to Hwy 706 to Mt Rainier.
Follow Hwy 706 to the park entrance. Enter and enjoy the cruise. Stop, look, take pictures and smell the roses. There is lots of park and road ahead.
Take the Hwy 123 turn to the north and continue enjoying the ride. Note, there are no gas stations in the park so gas up before you enter. Watch out for people and animals on the road.
Follow the road around Mt. Rainier to Hwy 169 and then turn north and proceed to I-5 again.
Enjoy the return trip.
